Sevilla 1927 - Sevilla 2005Manuel castillo was born in Sevilla in 1930, and therefore, took part of the Generation of ‘51, the promotion of Spanish composers to whom they were responsible for the modernization of Spanish music after the Civil War and early postwar years .Srudied composition with Corrado del Campo nad Nadia Boulanger in Paris and also had an important pianistic career.Normally is usually classified among the moderate trends of this generation, but, although not an avant-garde extreme sense, is certainly not a conservative.Castillo is one of the few Spanish, as we might call that eventually formed garde postmodernism in European musicians much younger than him.
