Tritó publish Sinfonía pirenaica, by Jesús Guridi

In collaboration with regional government of Vizcaya, Tritó has published the score of Sinfonía Pirenaica, composed in 1945 and premiered the following year by the Municipal Orchestra of Bilbao. As the title suggests and Jesús Guridi stresses, this pyrenees symphonic work evokes "the soul of the mountains (the Pyrenees) and the dangers lying therein". The music is filled with descriptive nuances, and, as with all his works, is colourful and based on the modal and rhythmic characteristics of Basque folk music. The work does not attempt to offer any sort of description, but rather express "the sentiments we have as we enjoy life in the countryside ".
