New Paths in Music

New Paths in Music is an annual festival held in New York whose goal is the diffusion of music by outstanding foreign composers on the United States music scene. The festival is organised by a non-profit organisation founded in 2004 and led by the conductor of the Albany Symphony orchestra, David Alan Miller, who is widely recognised as a fervent defender of contemporary music. This year’s festival was dedicated to the following countries: Spain, Chile, Mexico and Argentina. The Spanish representatives were the composers David del Puerto and Gabriel Erkoreka with their works Zephyr and Trance, respectively. The concert, which included their works and those of four other composers, took place on Friday 5 June at the Elebash Recital Hall in the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
