Esteban Salas is one of the most famous composers in the recovery movement of Latin American colonial music. He was born in Cuba and was maestro di cappella in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. His work, framed within the liturgy, includes a large collection of villancicos and Masses. Miriam Escudero who edited this collection that was published by the University of Valladolid, is currently a consultant in editing and performance of the Esteban Salas’s work.
