Homs’ output up to 1986 contains about 165 works (110 instrumental and 55 vocal). He won the City of Barcelona Prize in 1967 for his composition, Presències and, in 1981, on the occasion of his 75th birthday, the Gold Medal from the Barcelona Town Hall. Between the years 1926-31 he wrote articles for several magazines and organized concerts. During the 50’s he programmed and introduced most musical performances at the Club 49 in Barcelona. He was later active in the creation of Música Oberta, also a prominent figure in the Conjunt Català de Música Contemporània and lastly the Catalan Association of Composers ­of which he was the first president...
