He was trained at Barcelona Cathedral with the chapel master Lluís Vicenç Gargallo (1636 - 1682). He was chapel master at Mataró (1675 - 1685), in Santa Maria del Mar of Barcelona (1685 - 1690) and, finally in the cathedral of Girona (1690 - 1713). The musicologist F. Pedrell encorauged the study and edition of his wide output, contemporary of Biber and A.Scarlatti.
