Continuation of activities with the Basque composer Gabriel Erkoreka

The last months of last year were good for Gabriel Erkoreka's music. In October his chamber works Ametsak I and Ametsak II (Tritó Edicions)were performed at the Musikene festival in Donosti (San Sebastian), and the Plural Ensemble conducted by Fabián Panisello also played the latter work at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, within the concert programme of the BBVA Foundation. And in November the Kalakan Trio and the Basque National Orchestra, conducted by Juanjo Mena, performed Zuhaitz, a concerto for Basque percussion and orchestra, in Gasteiz, Pamplona, Donosti and Bilbao.

Gabriel Erkoreka will offer a master class at the Royal Academy of Music in London next Friday, 7 February, as part of his Guest Composers Seminar Series programme. Erkoreka will make a presentation of the technical and aesthetic aspects of his most recent music at the institution where he himself completed his postgraduate studies twenty-five years ago. Time: 11:30 a.m.
