The Cuban Leo Brouwer, one of the guitarists and guitar composers most important of our time, has explored various tendences during his long career. The composer entered in a way of environment working in a style closer to Xenaquis and Nono. Before that he had been influencied by the folk repertoire from Cuba. He returned at to a more traditional line at the beginning of the eighties. Paisaje cubano con campanas is one piece from a serie of works that evokes scenes from Cuba which was composed in this style.
