Catalan Chorinho is a piece that Joan Albert Amargós composed for the CD Colors, recorded in 1991 with the bassist Carles Benavent and the special participation of the French violinist Didier Lockwood. It was Amargós himself who suggested to the guitarist Xavier Coll adapt it for flute and guitar. And it can equally well be played on the violin by altering some octave passages. A recording of this work is included on the CD Brasiliana (DD01122) by the flute and guitar duo formed by Montserrat Gascón and Xavier Coll.
