Quaderno d’estate was composed by Jesús Rueda in 2006, in Rome, on commission from the Jacinto e Inocencio Guerrero Foundation for the seventeenth "S.A.R. La Infanta Doña Cristina û 2007" International Guitar Competition. In adapting the notation of this piece to the guitar, Jesús Rueda had the help of guitarist Stefano Cardi.
