
The composer Manuel Martínez Burgos was born in Madrid in 1970. He studied at Kensington School and then in his home city at the Royal Conservatory of Music where he obtains five Bachelor Degrees in: Composition, Orchestral Conducting, Classical Guitar, Pedagogy and Musicology. Subsequently he broadens his education in Germany at the International Courses of New Music (Darmstadt) with Stockhausen, Rihm and Huber, and in New York where he receives the advise of Milton Babbitt. He was awarded the Ph. D. by Madrid’s Universidad Autónoma obtaining the doctoral extraordinary prize.
