Ruimonte was born in Zaragoza in 1565. It is thought that he was musically trained in the public class of canto de órgano (poliphony) and contrapoint that produced Melchor Robledo. His first musical jobs are unknown. However, from 1599 at least, we know that he held the positions of chapel and chamber master of the Governor Princes of the Low Countries, the Archeduke Albert and the Princess Isabel Clara Eugenia in their Court of Bruxelles. Ruimonte returned to Zaragoza in 1614.
While he occuped the positions previously mentioned, Ruimonte published three volumens of his music: Missae Sex IV. V. et VI. vocum (Amberes, 1604); Cantiones sex vocum (Amberes, 1607); Parnaso español de Madrigales y Villancicos a cuatro, cinco y seis (Amberes, 1614).
