Spanish premiere of Jesús Rueda’s Fragmento de Orfeo

The Teatro Albéniz in Madrid is to host this 25 and 26 April the first performances in Spain of Fragmento de Orfeo by Jesús Rueda, which had its world premiere in October at the Venice Biennale. The same soloists will be on hand for the Madrid performance: Antonio Comas (tenor, Orfeo), Pilar Jurado (soprano, Eurídice) and Julián Elvira (flutes). To accompany them, Luca Pfaff conducts the Community of Madrid Orchestra and Chorus. The two performances form part of the Óperadhoy 2006 season and share the bill with El Parque by Luis de Pablo, which also premiered in Venice. Rueda wrote the libretto for Fragmento de OrfeoOvid's Metamorfoses and Virgil's Georgics. based on
