New works by Gabriel Erkoreka: Boreal and Ametsak 2

The Tritó catalog includes two new works by the Basque composer Gabriel Erkoreka: Boreal for solo violin and Ametzak for chamber ensemble. The first is based on the "Tempo di Borea", the last movement of the first Partita for solo violin by JS Bach, and was commissioned by the Galician violinist Roberto Alonso Trillo as part of the Bach Revisited project. It premiered on 16 March 2019 at the Palau de l'Marquis de Salamanca in Madrid, by the Bulgarian violinist Ema Alexeeva.

The instrumentation of Ametsak 2 coincides with that of the previous work of the same cycle, and has been chosen to enhance the use of extreme registers, which allow the author greater plasticity. In addition, this work explores the limits of perception applied at extreme speeds, ranging from static to dizzying. It is dedicated to the Court-Circuit Ensemble, a group that premiered it on October 3, 2019 at the Musikene Auditorium in Sant Sebastià, within the Musikagileak Circuit. The works will soon be available in Tritó's online store.
