Tríptico de la piel de toro is a work for piano and orchestra that draws on the musical principles expounded by Felip Pedrell at the end of the 19th century and it is clearly influenced by the objectives proposed and achieved by both Manuel de Falla and Robert Gerhard. The composer does not allude to any popular theme in particular, but rather incorporates and develops his own imaginary folklore, akin to his artistic sensibility. Through brilliant orchestration and a notable polyphonic development of each of the themes, Ricard Lamote manages to create of a work of great character and originality that exudes the sensation of being deeply rooted in the Castile of the beginning of the 20th century.
