Museta is a derivation of the French word Musette, which was the name given to a type of bagpipe used in the royal courts during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
The most characteristic feature of the bagpipe is the drone, a sound that remains constant (long note) while playing the main melody.
Robert de la Riba manages to fully reflect the character of this type of instrument in this wellbalanced composition.
