In 2004 Jordi Masó asked a score of leading Spanish composers to each compose a short piece to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Joaquim Homs in 2006.
Ramon Humet was kind enough to write Rossinyol (Nightingale) for this commission, taking inspiration from the world of birdsong, which had also fascinated Homs.
