Joan Pineda studied at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music. His passion for the cinema and a series of circumstances found him work during film projections playing the soundtrack on the piano in the same room. He has also composed soundtracks for both shorts and feature films, most of which were produced by the Institut del Cinema Català.
