This piece is based on the song Elegia eterna by Granados. It is a work that reveals Montsalvatge’s sensibility both in his subtle treatment of the strings, supported harmonically and in timbre by the vibraphone, and in his respectful treatment of the original score. Was first performed in August 2000, by Maria José Montiel and the Orquestra de Cadaqués conducted by Sir Neville Marriner.
