Composed towards the end of his life, Lamote considered El Càntic dels Càntics to be his masterpiece and musical testament. Indeed it is a grand oratory for soloists, choir and significant orchestral accompaniment. The orchestration was finished by Oltra, based on reducing the piano part and following the instructions left by the composer upon his death.
