The international directory of musical sources (RISM) was created in 1952 and it is the first draft description of the historical musical sources worldwide. The RISM comprises more than thirty national groups.
Spain established its national group in 1988 that is composed for people from the Ministry of Culture, CSIC, the Episcopal Conference and some universities.
This volume offers the first Spanish version of international rules for cataloging manuscripts included in the IIA series (manuscripts from the 1600 to 1850).
