Orchestre de l'Ile-de-France premiere Hèctor Parra's newest work
The Catalan composer, who lives in Paris, will premiere this 23 April his work Lumières Abyssales – Chroma I. The score was written on commission from the Orchestre Nationale d'Ile de France, and is based on another Parra work, Chroma, which premiered in Palma de Mallorca in 2004. The premiere of the new composition will be conducted by David Porcelijn at the Espace Jacques Prévert during the Festival Ile de Découvertes de Aulnay sous Bois. 
Spanish premiere of Jesús Rueda's Fragmento de Orfeo
The Teatro Albéniz in Madrid is to host this 25 and 26 April the first performances in Spain of Fragmento de Orfeo by Jesús Rueda, which had its world premiere in October at the Venice Biennale. The same soloists will be on hand for the Madrid performance: Antonio Comas (tenor, Orfeo), Pilar Jurado (soprano, Eurídice) and Julián Elvira (flutes). To accompany them, Luca Pfaff conducts the Community of Madrid Orchestra and Chorus. Rueda wrote the libretto for Fragmento de Orfeo based on Ovid's Metamorfoses and Virgil's Georgics.
The 7th New Repertoires/Music XXI Season presented in Barcelona

This Friday, 7 April, a press conference was held to present the seventh Cicle Nous Repertoris/Música XXI, a season of music organized jointly by the GEMC (Music Publishers' Guild of Catalonia) and Joventuts Musicals de Barcelona. The programme includes seven concerts at the SGAE's Sala Mompou, every Tuesday at 20:00, from 18 April to 30 May. The repertoire for these concerts is made up solely of music by Catalan composers.
