The Cadaqués Orchestra celebrates since 1992 and every two years,the International Conducting Competition.

It was commissioned one work to important composers from the Spanish music scene for each new edition in order to be part of the repertoire required of applicants.

Some of these works are included in this recording that is published after the Xth edition of the contest.

Each composition is performed by the Cadaqués Orchestra and conducted for one of the resident conductors as Gianandrea Noseda or Sir Neville Marriner or one of the winning contestants as Gianandrea Noseda, or Michal Nesterowicz.

The current director of the Centro para la Difusión de la Música Contemporánea, Jorge Fernández Guerra, wrote the interesting critical notes included in the album in order to put the work in context.
