Pere Rabassa is one of the most important composers from the Spanish Baroque period. He studied with Francesc Valls and worked as a maestro de capilla in the Vic (1713), Valencia (1714) and Seville (1724) cathedrals. Even though his vocal music and the Guía para los principiantes were famous during his life, nowadays his works are practically unknown.
This CD includes vocal works from the Seville years, performed by the Coro y Capilla Instrumental Juan Navarro Hispalensis, with soloists like Isabel Álvarez, Josep Benet or David Sagastume and Josep Cabré as the conductor.
