Valderrábano, Enríquez de

We know little about Valderrábano and, as usual, what we know comes from his own comments in his book, from his royal printing privilege and from some other contemporary sources. He may have served Francisco de Çúñiga for some years, which suggests that Valderrábano was a professional musician. The diversity of modes, tones, consonances and rythms in their right proportion can be found together and more perfectly in the vihuela than in any other instrument.
