Arriaga, Juan Crisóstomo de
Bilbao 1806 - París 1826The Basque composer Arriaga left behind a small yet quite remarkable output, which makes his premature death at nineteen, just when he was beginning to make a name for himself with Parisian audiences, all the more sad. His style is replete with influences from the most important early Romantic composers, from Italian opera, and, especially, from central-European symphonic music.
